Centennial Parade and Picnic

After 100 years, isn’t it time for a party? Manhattan Beach continues its centennial celebration this weekend with a parade and community picnic. (Residents be forewarned: Manhattan Beach Blvd. will be shut down between Redondo Ave. and Pacific Ave. for most of the morning.)

The parade begins at 10:00 am at Pacific School and continues down Manhattan Beach Blvd. to Polliwog Park. The picnic begins at noon at Polliwog Park and features food trucks that will sell lunch between noon and 3:00 pm. Featured food trucks (scheduled) include DogTown Dogs, Kogi , Gastrobus, PNUT Butter Bar, and FryTruck.  Continue celebrating throughout the afternoon with family games, an art exhibit, tours of the botanical garden and historic house.

And at 1:45, don’t miss the most important part of any birthday party – the birthday cake. Happy birthday, Manhattan Beach!
