Do your kids have more stuffed animals than they know what to do with? Why not consider donating them to a child in extreme poverty? A local mom, Allisen Patel, and her family are making it easy for South Bay residents to do just that through her charity, Stuff 4 Joy. Stuff 4 Joy benefits children and adults in impoverished countries – primarily the Philippines – with food, clothing, and toys.
Right now Stuff 4 Joy is collecting gently used stuffed animals, dolls, Legos, and puzzles (with all the pieces accounted for) to bring on its latest mission. You can drop any of these items off at the Manhattan Beach Library from now through Friday, October 28. To go even one step further, for $55 you can sponsor the shipping costs on one of the boxes in which the items will be shipped.
But wait – there’s more! Next week Stuff 4 Joy will be conducting a post-Halloween drive to collect leftover Halloween candy to bring to kids in the Philippines. We’ll update this story next week with more details about drop-off and collections, so be sure to check back then.
