Hatch Chiles

Hatch chiles are here! Have you ever tried them? These hearty Southwestern natives (grown in Hatch, New Mexico) are bold and spicy. They rate a 6 on the heat scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the hottest. They’re grown in the late summer and early fall, so now’s the time to pick some up.

Frieda’s Produce is offering them at Ralph’s markets around the area, and if you want to go to one of their cooking demonstrations there may be one near you.

Check out Frieda’s Hatch Chile page for recipes and more details on the upcoming Saturday demonstrations in Costa Mesa, La Canada, Huntington Beach, Los Angeles, Tustin, and Pasadena. It’s worth the trip!
